What a Year! In 2011, GetRecD supported over 12 cancer patients, introduced four new events, received a Chatelaine nomination, was aired on Rogers TV, hosted two cancer patient night outs, received support from celebrities and athletes, generous support from the Economic Club of Canada and many other generous donors and sponsors.
GetRecD directly supports cancer patients during their battles with gift cards for gas, groceries, house cleaning, entertainment evenings, etc as well as, by donating “battle baskets” that are filled with items that we know will assist them during their treatments such as, peppermint candies to assist with nausea, body cream & Vitamin E to prevent scars from radiation, books, games, food and so many more items.
With the support and dedication of our event participants, sponsors, donors and community members, GetRecD is able to assist cancer patients in need. TOGETHER, we are making a difference in someone’s life.
As stated at the 2008 GetRecD Golf Event, “I am not going to say that we are here to raise awareness, as raising awareness doesn’t do anything for the cause. I am here to motivate and inspire you, to join us on our mission to assisting cancer patients with their fight and to find a cure for cancer.”
