Even at birth you were special as the first baby boy
After many girls, you brought the family much joy;
Growing up playing hockey, you made your parents proud
They were the ones cheering the most for you in the crowd;
You were close to your sister and you became her best friend
Making promises to keep each other's secrets to the very end;
Your irresistible charm, your quick wit and your easy smile
Made wanting to be with you all the worthwhile;
Your family and friends were always important to you
No one was more caring, giving and extremely loyal too;
For a wonderful person who deserved only the best
Why did God put you through such a horrible test;
When we all found out you were so gravely ill
Our lives turned upside down and gave us a chill;
Thinking only of others, you assured us not to worry or fret
To keep the positive energy and not to give up on you yet;
With long stays at the hospital, you never would sit and mope
You flirted with the nurses and comforted patients giving them hope;
With all you went through which would drive anyone insane
There was never a complaint as you quietly endured the pain;
There is no more suffering for you, only peace, tranquility and rest
You will surely be awarded in heaven for surpassing God's difficult test.

Ryan co-founded the GetRecD tournament for a friend
Only to be battling this disease himself to the very end;
May the Ryan Daly Foundation in this courageous man's name
Aid in better treatments and research and not be in vain;
So no one's loved ones will suffer or their families see what they endure
Let's do all we can now to help find a cure!
